Brazil mission #1, November 2015February 4, 2016 Past Missions
After making acquaintances with Brazilian physicians, a reconnaissance trip was organized in order to determine what potential the facilities and environment of Manaus, Brazil had to offer. It was to our surprise that the need for our knowledge and care was a definite necessity both at the educational level as well as the clinical level.
We had the privilege of lecturing at Nilton Lins University for a group of 160+ students, residents, and physicians. This group was comprised of multi disciplinary backgrounds. Following the lectures, we were invited to visit the campus grounds and the multiple associated hospitals.
After discussing with the entities in charge about the benefits of our visit, we were invited to further visit the potential for future surgical missions and advancing our clinical opportunities.
